Awards Categories

Small Business of the Year - Qualification requirements:
•Business of less than 10 full time employees (or equivalent). Not including the business owners.
•Owner of business is an active member in community activities, business association or professional association.
•Has a positive impact on the community through good business.
•Achievements in some or all of these areas: customer service, growth, innovation, leadership, marketing, products, productivity, new markets, technology, and/or environmental.
•Shows history of long term employees and fosters diversity in the workplace.
•Has training, development and recognition available to its employees.
•Encourages employees to be active in their community.
•Committed to safety within the workplace.
•Has improved business opportunities within the Township of Norwich.
•Promotes the fact that they operate in the Township of Norwich.

Large Business of the Year - Qualification requirements:
•Business of 10 or more full-time employees (or equivalent) and over. Not including the business owners.
•Owner of business is an active member in community activities, business association or professional association.

Farm Family of the Year (North) - Qualification requirements:
•Farm of any size
•Must be located North of Quaker Street
•Excellent farming practices
•Contribution to community
•Environmental stewards
•Promote current and future business relationships between township businesses and the agricultural community.

Farm Family of the Year (South) - Qualification requirements:
•Farm of any size
•Must be located South of Quaker Street
•Excellent farming practices
•Contribution to community
•Environmental stewards
•Promote current and future business relationships between township businesses and the agricultural community.

Citizen of the Year - Qualification requirements:
•This award is presented annually to an adult resident (age 19 to 65 years old) who resides in the Township of Norwich.
•Has shown initiative, creativity, and dedication to volunteering in our Township or beyond.
•Has displayed remarkable kindness or assistance to others or groups of others.
• Community-minded and truly committed to being involved and making a difference in society.
•Inspires others to get involved and take action to better our community.
​
Youth Citizen of the Year - Qualification requirements:
•This award is presented annually to a youth resident (age 18 or under) who resides in the Township of Norwich.
•Has shown initiative, creativity, and dedication to volunteering in our Township or beyond.
•Has displayed remarkable kindness or assistance to others or groups of others.
• Community-minded and truly committed to being involved and making a difference in society.
•Inspires others to get involved and take action to better our community.

Judy Cayley Memorial Award - Qualification requirements:
•This award is presented annually to a senior resident (over age 65) who resides in the Township of Norwich.
•Has shown initiative, creativity, and dedication to volunteering in our Township or beyond.
•Has displayed remarkable kindness or assistance to others or groups of others.
• Community-minded and truly committed to being involved and making a difference in society.
•Inspires others to get involved and take action to better our community.
